Things that make you go hmmmmm....

I am blogging from my cell phone and I just have to get this down before I forget. I have two short stories to share. First of all yesterday I brought home Jonathon and Georgia's ornament for this year. Hers was an ice cream cone bc in 2012 she has discovered a love for ice cream like nobodies business and her Daddy's was an ornament with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. She tells me immediately that she really wants to keep Jonathon's bc she needs the Christ Child on her tree and she just wants to be close to Christ The Lord...seriously lol. She then proceeds to tell me last night as she gazes longingly (I'm not kidding) at her STOLEN from her daddy ornament that she can't wait to meet Jesus and she wants to be just like him. Swoon! story...this morning we are getting ready and she tells me that sometimes Sylvia (a little girl in her class) tells her she isn't her friend anymore but that yesterday they played together :( First of all, breaks my heart. So I tell her that we would never say hurtful things to others and that it's a special person who can be friends and find good in everyone. She looks at me...cups my face in her hands and says," You speak with a very wise voice mama and I will always listen." I wanted to laugh bc it was so funny and sweet but she was dead serious. She is so funny to me. She is like an 80 year old stuck in a 4 year olds body. I love her. She is off to see her Papaw for her birthday party this weekend and I'm going to see my Mom for her birthday and some Christmas shopping. Jonathon will be holding down the fort here at home. Please say a little prayer for me as I am a tad bit(ok a lot) anxious bc it's been a long time since I've been physically that far away from her. She will have a ball and be just fine...I know it! Happy Thursday!

Thanksgiving Day

We spent Thanksgiving day with Jonathon's family. That morning we loaded up and headed up to church to work for The Arkansas Dream Center and deliver meals to families in our town. From there we went straight to Betty's to eat ourselves! We worked up an appetite driving around with all that food! Georgia changed clothes mid-day so she could do cart-wheels and play outside with cousins Hayley and Savannah and Aunt Cassie. She had a ball. At days end she wanted to stay bc Ed was going to take them horse riding. Jonathon and I came home and put up our Christmas Tree. We actually did it w/o an argument ha! We had to stop about 645 and run to Wal-Mart for lights. Apparently, Black Friday started at 8 so we were in for a treat. Lets just say it firmed up my stance on not shopping Black Friday unless it is from the comforts of my own home. By the time G got home we were almost done! Frisbee and Snowflake (her elves) also arrived! It was a wonderful day. One for giving thanks for our families. I have a serious case of holiday-itis...I'm ready to deck the halls and spread some holiday cheer!

Urgency vs Calm

I read a post this morning about urgency vs calm. Slowing down the busy and stop glorifying the art of it. I say yes way to often...often times overwhelming our family schedule and complicating life when I don't have to. I want more afternoons like this one...One where we hit the market after work and strolled through the toy aisles twice and took pictures of toys to send to Santa and we did not have to rush anywhere. We just enjoyed each other and our time. These are my favorite afternoons/evenings and lately they are fewer and far between. I love spending time with her. I love not hearing myself say, "Come on baby, we have to go do this or that." I want more of this. More. More. More! This is what I want from Santa this year: Time to do absolutely nothing. I don't think that's too much to ask.

Wacky Wednesday

Ready to knock this day out at work and have a little mini-Thanksgiving vacay! We baked blueberry muffins last night and for some reason that just sent me right over my holiday spirit edge. I am so excited! The holidays are my favorite time of year. Makes me fell like a kid again...all giddy and smiley. I hope when Georgia Poo is all grown up she loves them as much as I do. I hope we are already building wonderful memories for her that she will never forget and hold close to her heart.

I see lots of Lifetime Christmas movies in my future, a Christmas tree going up and I bet Frisbee and Snowflake (Georgie's elfs) will be to be visit soon. Can't wait!

Morning Glories

My favorite thing about fall and winter is lighting a fire. Drinking coffee by the fire, watching movies by the fire, reading by the fire, drinking wine by the fire, taking a nap by the fire, staring at the fire....the list goes on and on. My sweet girl likes it even more than I do! Every morning as of late, she likes to eat her breakfast by the fire. Zane likes it too. This morning we had to take a bath bc we didn't do it before bed last night and she was "drying her hair" by the fire. Love our mornings. Love that she is a morning person like me and hits the ground running. I dont think I could handle two grumpy pants in the morning bc her daddy is definitely not a morning person :-) Happy almost Thanksgiving!

Friends To The End

These three little ones, Jax, Chloe and Georgia don't get to hang out as much as we would like them to with all of our busy schedules and just life in general but when they do they have SO much fun! Now, Finn, Stone and Cohen have been added to the bunch but they are still a little too little to hang with the "big kids". I cannot believe that in just a short month these guys will be five years old! In less than a year they will all be in Kindergarten. It makes my stomach hurt just thinking about it. Loved seeing their cute little faces this week :-)

Tiny Chicks

Up until a couple of weeks ago, Georgie was taking Cheernastics or Cheer and Gymnastics. While on our way to Life Group two weeks ago we got a call from Coach Shelby who coaches the competitive cheer team at Sonshine. She asked if we would consider letting Georgia join bc one little girl had to drop out last minute and she thought Georgia would be a good fit for the team. We talked about it and prayed about it and ultimately decided to go to a practice and check it out. SHE LOVED IT!!! we are today (my birthday) at her first "showcase" which was like a dress rehearsal. Her first competition is in a few weeks. The other little girls have been on this team since April so we have a long long way to go! She is so brave and so fierce! She has this "go for it" attitude that I only wish I had possessed as a child. She isn't afraid of anything and just wants to "try her best" and take it "seriously". Her words, not mine. I swear she is such an old soul. I am beyond over the moon proud of her. She loves her team and loves the little girls on it! I asked Coach Christina (her other coach for the Tiny Chicks and her Cheernastics coach) what it was about Georgia that made her think she could do it. Her response, "She listens, she obeys, she pays attention and she has the capability to be taught anything." Ya'll swoon does not even begin to describe how happy that made me. My baby listens! Pays attention! Woo hoo! Now of course it would have been cool if she had said, "I think she is the next Gabby Douglas and she has mad skills." but I think the former is even more of a compliment. Honestly, I just wanted to do it to see her all dressed up bc these bows and rhinestones are to just die for. XOXO-Amanda

Natalie came and spent the weekend with us last weekend. We shopped Holiday House, we ate too much, we talked about Baby O, we played and laughed and had a wonderful weekend. We also decorated for Christmas! This is the third year we have made a birthday tradition (my birthday) of dragging out the Christmas and doing my mantle and door. I honestly couldn't do it without her. We got to spend the day with Courtney on Saturday too. SO.MUCH.FUN. I miss them both already. I wish we could shop and lunch every day :-) Natalie left last night and while giving Georgia a bath, she looked at me and said, "Mama, Im a little blue. Something is missing." I, of course, asked her why she was blue and she replied, "I really miss Aunt Nat. I really like it when she is here." BOO HOO! Made me smile because she loves her so very much and made me sad bc I wish she were closer. It was a wonderful weekend. One that makes me thankful and feel blessed and fills my heart with the good stuff. I am blessed. My child is blessed with a slew of people that love her. We are both pretty lucky girls :-)

Road Trippin'

Georgia got to go to Granny Becky's farm a couple of weekends ago. She loves Becky and Eddie (Amanda Rhea's parents) and they love her too. There was a campfire and four-wheeler ridin, a birthday party and they even got chased by a pig!I think she and Bella would both agree that it was weekend success.

Grabbing a burger at Margaritaville before catching our flight was our last hoorah. You can also see her on the plane train at the ATL airport. We were almost home! While were all sad our vacation had come to an end, I think we were excited to get home and see Zane. We missed him!

The Last Supper

Last dinner before our departure. I was so relaxed and rejuvenated and ready to take on the world. However, I would have been happy to have stayed a couple more weeks:-)

Sea Shells.

We came home with an entire bag of sea shells. Sadly, we had to leave her favorite behind. We found this huge konka shell washed up on the beach on one of our afternoon walks. It was so cool and it weighed almost 3 lbs! It smelled so bad! We took lots of pictures to remember it by....G looks less than thrilled in these pics. This was the day we had our family pictures done and I think she was less than excited to have a camera in her face....
