Home Is Where Your Heart Is

If home is where the heart is then my heart is where ever these two are. My Aunt Greta and Val came up to see us a couple of weekends ago. We all went to lunch and chowed down then we shopped all afternoon. Georgia and Val played cards to finish up our awesome day. I was so appreciative that they came all the way to here to spend the day with us. I wish we could do it more often. They are all just way too far away :-(

Little Lady

First of all, what is up with my hair in this picture? I swear it is not usually this out of control...I had to post this pic bc I just adore this look on her face. This is classic Georgie with a twist. Love her.

Groovy Baby

Dress Rehearsal and picture day for her tap routine. She is going to rock it out. She is SASSY in this outfit. They are doing a routine to "Working at the Car Wash" and it is going to be classic. Just a few more dance classes before the real deal. I know she is going to knock it out of the park but I am so nervous!!!!

The Wiz

My child is obsessed with The Wizard of Oz. I would put her up against anyone in a Jeopardy category with this as the subject and my money would be on her each and every time. We got tickets to go and see one of the adaptations of the movie at The Rep. We had front row seats! Nana stopped by to see her before we left so we snagged a pic with her too. I also posted some really great pics at The Rep on Facebook but these are the ones from my camera. It was so much fun! She loved it and sat awestruck throughout the show. Dorothy even picked her up and put her on stage for the last rendition of "Ease on Down the Road." She thought she was SO super cool and for an afternoon she was.

Double Trouble

Can you tell they are singing? Lol. I wish I could say it was a beautiful little melody but man they need singing lessons...they should stick to dancing ;-)

He Is Risen

This year Georgia was old enough to actually understand what Easter was all about. I loved that. I loved reading the bible story to her and her telling me at bedtime, "Mama, Jesus died for all our sin." Sweet girl. Mom and Papi Chris were here for Easter Sunday and we had a big breakfast before church. Days like these make me really count my blessings. Thanks be to God for everything He has blessed this family with.

Big Girl Room

Well, we finally did it. We finally kicked her out of our family bed. It was hard. So very hard. You might automatically assume it was hard for her and she cried and got up a thousand times during the night and so forth and so on. Nope. She took to it like a duck in water...I, on the otherhand had a very hard time letting her go. First of all, I watch entirely to much Dateline. I was completely convinced someone would come through the window and kidnap her. Even though, we have an alarm system and a 70 lb dog. She always goes to bed by herself (bedtime is 8:00) so that wasn't an issue. She didnt' really want anyone to lay with her. I, however laid down and slept with her every night for the first week. She could have cared less. I gradually over time started going in for a little snuggle then would wake up and go to mine and Jonathon's room. Then eventually, I gave it up and she is a complete loner now. I am SO GLAD! We all sleep so much better. This kid takes up the entire bed for starters and she has to be more comfortable with so much more room. It has been a little over a month and she acts like she has been doing it forever. She is so brave and I am so very proud of her. I would like to think she inately senses that she is safe and knows we're here so it doesn't matter, but who knows? Whatever the case may be, I am proud of her. Very. Here is a picture of her big girl bed. The picture really doesn't do her room justice. It is seriously cute and she really loves it. Her favorite part are her corkboards where we can hang her artwork. In this pic we had just hung they are full of her beautiful creations. She is a beautiful creation all her own.

Egg Heads

After our trial run of making the easter eggs, of course we had to hide them. We hid them. Then we hid them again. And again. And again. Because that's what's Mommy's and Mimi's are supposed to do.

Auntie Amy

Amy has loved these little girls since before they were even zygotes. Now, she is having one of her very own. I hope one day 20 years from now baby Baker can look here and see that I too loved him or her before she/he was even born. I have prayed for this for my sweet friend for a long time and she and Jeremy are going to make the BEST parents. I will love this one almost as much as one of my own. We got to spend the whole weekend with Ames bc Jer is out of town so I'll be sure and post those pics later(Ya'll know I am slow). For now, many warm thoughts and prayers for a healthy pregnancy, safe delivery and happy baby :-) b

There is a quote that I saw the other day that said, "There is no word for old friends who have only just met." I never really got it until recently. I have a friend named Detra, whom I met professionally a number of years ago. When we moved to our new home two summers ago, we became neighbors and a beautiful friendship began. I love her. She radiates goodness and happiness and is all the things that you could possibly want in a friend. She is strong in her faith, has a good listening ear and gives good solid honest advice. She is kind of awesome. She also has two amazing kiddos in Micah and Kayla and Georgia just happens to fall right smack in the middle of them age wise. We love our playdates with them. I am getting old and set in my ways and to be honest not great at letting new people in. I am so very glad I decided to open myself up and make a new friend. I am better for it and I am so very grateful for her friendship. Lucky me :-) These are the first pics I have taken of our kiddos together but certainly one in a long line of playdates. We are always much too busy talking and catching up for me to remember to get my camera!
