Happy Memorial Day

I suppose it's easy to forget what today is all about when there is so much fun to be had, sun to soak up, grilling to be done, and kiddos to chase around. But... today I am thankful for the thousands who have given their lives so that my family can be free and continue to live in this wonderful DEMOCRATIC nation that we call home. In December of 2007, the year Georgia was born, 899 American troops died, making 2007 the deadliest for the U.S. military since the 2003 invasion. My child hasn't lived ONE second that her country wasn't at war. I hope one day she will. We have been "at war" for almost a decade and most of us do not even feel the impact of it but it is always there. I wish I could personally say thank you to every soldier out there fighting for us and our children here at home. I hope they all had a wonderful day where ever they are.
My American girl took to the pool like a fish (or mermaid) and swam ALL day. She loved it. She went from one end of the pool to the other and was absolutely fearless. I was so proud of her. I feel certain she will sleep REALLY well tonight. Happy Memorial Day everyone! Hope yours was blessed. XOXO-Amanda

So it's the first day of my three day weekend and guess what I'm up doing...going to work. I signed up for the NAMI Walk today and didn't realize what the date was...and good loyal employee that I am I am still going to go even though its at the butt crack of dawn because I suppose that's what good employees do. Blah blah blah. I hope you are all snuggled in your beds sleeping late on this beautiful Saturday. I will be out supporting Mental Illness and changing the world with Georgie Poo one step at a time. :-)

Showin' Some Love

It's game five and G is showing the Lakers of Los Angeles her support by rocking her Laker tee. It's game 5 and we're tied 2-2 for the series. Hopefully she will be doing the happy dance in the morning with her Daddy when she wakes up! She is all cozy in bed not feeling much like cheering for anything. She seemed to feel worse and worse as the night wore on. Pray she feels lots better in the morn and pray the Lakers pull out a win! Happy ALMOST Friday!

Jonathon's work had an event at the zoo last Saturday! Here are some pics from her big day!

I could sop you up with a biscuit!!!

They are sooooo stinkin' cute I could literally sop them up with a biscuit. Pax is getting so big!!! They look so much alike in coloring and hair they could be brother and sister! You would think it would be Michael's son who would be "macking" on my daughter but it was the other way around. G couldn't get enough of his kisses! We had a blast having lunch with Aunt Nat and Aunt Jeanette. We should do it more often :-)

Georgia 2.5

On May 21st (my Granny's birthday) the little picklepotamus turned 2.5! Oh my. I feel like I have so much to say and I don't even know where to begin. It seems like overnight I have a little girl versus a few weeks ago I had a little baby. In one short month we have gone sans paci and are completely potty trained. Two seperate six hour road trips and no accidents AT ALL in the bed have solidified that she is indeed done with the potty. She no longer needs probing if you ask her something, she understands everything and she is SOOOOO smart it blows my mind. My two year olds new favorite word of the moment is "cozy". When she is tired it's "I wanna get cozy Mama" or if I snuggle up to her on the couch it's "Mama, are we cozy?" She also is digging the saying "YAHOO MOUNTAIN DEW!" which I'm pretty sure my Mama taught her. She just randomly gives the Dew a shout out. We have long conversations and she melts my heart with her insight and understanding. She,for a two year old, is also emotionally intelligent. She already has an uncanny ability to read a situation or mood and react appropriatly. Her personality is CRAZY contagious and is truly like bottled sunshine. You can not be in her presence and be sad or crabby. Just yesterday, Natalie at lunch told me that G reminded her of a white Olivia. Now for those of you not schooled in all things Cosby, this was a huge compliment! Olivia is the bomb diggity. I am looking forward to spending this summer with her exploring and learning lots of new things with her. She has changed soooooo much since last summer. I'm working on a list of summer plans for our family and I'll share them with you guys when we wrap it up. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday, I'm gonna go and enjoy some time with Georgia 2.5!

Graduation Celebration and Blog Frustration

Last weekend Jonathon's step-sister, Elizabeth graduated from high-school. Betty and Ed had a BBQ and we ate too much yummy food and had lots of good laughs. I took soooo many pictures and I wanted to share more with you here but my pictures/camera and I aren't getting along. Somehow, the settings on my camera got changed...the flash won't come on and the picture size it is taking is much too large to transfer to blogger or even to email them. I have tried every which way to re size them but because I am using new editing software it isn't going too well. I AM SUPER FRUSTRATED. I may never get the ones on here that I have taken over the last week because they are all some weird astronomically freaky size. I had to blog each one of these directly from Picasa one at a time and log in every time then I had to separate out six separate blogs and make them into one, hence you guys are getting less than half of my intended photo share :-). I literally have messed with this every SINGLE day this week. GRRRRRRRRR. I promise to keep trying and I promise to keep sharing my beautiful girl with you even if it is one picture at a time. Might help me out to have to be a little more choosy. HA!! We have had lots going on and I can't wait to share it all with you. Have a great weekend everyone!!!
