SPA CITY

Chris plays in the Hot Springs Country Club Golf Tournament every year and it was this past weekend. We went and stayed in the condo with them and TRIED to have nice and relaxing weekend. Georgia wasn't feeling up to her normal peppy self. At first we thought it was the shot she had gotten at her check up bc she had mild fever throughout the weekend. Along with the fever, were nights of pure hell. She didnt sleep at all and would wake up screaming bloody murder. ARGH. Not a happy weekend did this make. There were moments where she felt better and I did get some sweet pics. Turns out she has Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease. I HATE THE SOUND OF THAT. It sounds like something a homeless person would have or a really dirty child. On Sunday, when we got home I noticed she was not eating and when she would take a bite, she would scream to high heaven. So, out came the flashlight. Oh, my poor baby, is all I can say. Her mouth was and still is full of blisters and ulcers...I immediately called Emily and Blayne (he is a pediatric dentist) to get a quick remedy for my baby. He asked me if she had spots anywhere else and I said NO! just her mouth, and he asked about Hand, Foot, and Mouth. I hadn't noticed her feet or hands yet, obviously. Later, that evening Betty and Ed came over to see her and Betty (she is a pediatric nurse) confirmed it. There isnt much you can do for this "disease" other than TLC and Tylenol. We mixed up a concoction of mylanta and benadryl for her mouth and it seems to help a lot. If youre wondering where my sweet innocent beautiful child got such a disease...look no further than DAYCARE. Alicia (Chloe goes to same school) got a call today from her teacher that there were 5 confirmed cases of it! 5! Georgia's is unconfirmed so there are no telling how many there really are! It is only in times like these that I wish I were a stay at home mom. I hate germy babies! Pray she is all better soon and we all get some sleep. I need it and so does she!

18 Month Wellness Check

Georgey Poo had her 18 month check up last Thursday and here she is in her picture strutting her stuff in the doctors office! Here are some things we learned at our visit. She weighed in at an official 20 lbs 15 ounces! My big girl has moved into the 7th percentile for her weight up from the 5th! YAY Georgia! She is 30 inches long which puts her in the 10 percentile up from the 5th and she has doubled her height since birth. I PRAY for her that she will be tall like her daddy and not short like me so she NEVER has to have her pants hemmed. Her head is 18 3/8 in circumference and I cant remember what percentile this is but I think like the 40th maybe...so, she has a big head! She is still following her own growth curve and doing well. They wanted to make sure she was trying to climb (and boy oh boy is she!), if she could say two word phrases, and if she was only drinking from a sippy cup. All of these we could say yes to, except the dreaded, does she sleep in her own bed question? NOPE. NADA. NO DICE. She still sleeps in our family bed, right along with baby Zane. I, of course being the good mother that I am, didnt bat an eye, looked that sweet nurse practioner right in the eyes and lied. Oh well. You gotta do what you gotta do. Mom was with me and I could feel her glaring at me. HA! I am so proud she is growing so great! I am blessed with a happy healthy baby and I will never take that for granted. XOXO

Revelations

After spending the weekend with my fabulous girlfriends, it has come to my attention that children have become the center of our universe. Gone are the days of no worries and doing nothing. Somehow, a pint sized velvet revolution was waged right under our noses, and us "grown-ups" quietly handed over the reigns. We have made concession after concession, until it appears that well-educated, otherwise intelligent adults have abdicated their rightful place in the world, and the littlest inmates have taken over the asylum. Children change your life sooooo much. We had so much fun and for a moment I felt like my old self, the old me, but then I remembered I'm the new me and the new me is WAAAYYYYY better because she is Georgey's mommy. Lucky me. I couldn't wait to come back home and let her get markers all over me or sneeze on me or whatever other gross bodily function she chooses to share with me. I love this little pint size dicator. She is mine all mine. XOXO

Happy Fathers Day

Today was a another great day. My friends and I got back from the Spring River this morning and I got here just in time to see Jonathon before he headed off to work. Georgia and Zane got some daddy time in last night and this morning so he did get to spend some time with them for Fathers Day. My camera was still packed from the trip so I didn't even get one picture of he and Georgia together today which really bums me out because she will be snoozing when he comes home from work. You win some you lose some, I suppose. :-) I did however have the pleasure of seeing my own wonderful dad today and was able to take his picture! I feel very fortunate to have such a great father. I know he loves me unconditionally and in my eyes he could rope the moon. There is nothing in the world that I can think of that my dad doesn't know how to do or fix or make better. There is truly no one like my father. That being said, I look forward to watching Georgia and Jonathon's relationship develop over the years. There is no greater gift than having a father that is supportive and loving. So, to my own Dad...Your guiding hand on my shoulder will remain with me forever. Thank you for helping make me who I am today and thank you for always being there for me when I need you. I love you, daddy. As old as I get, I still miss my daddy sometimes. Now, he isn't as far away as my mother but man what I wouldn't give to have my whole family right in my back yard. Well, maybe not my backyard ;-) Hope all the daddy's in your lives had a wonderful Sunday. XOXO I'm glad to be home!

Catch Me If You Can

Georgia's new favorite game is catch me or chase me. She is so funny bc she runs and hides then pops her little head out. Yesterday she was hiding behind the trashcan. Gross, I know. Afterwards, she had to come in and give Sir Kiss A Lot some good lovin'. She is such a little lover not a fighter! She has a tooth coming in on the bottom, hence the teething ring in the pics...poor thing, maybe she will get all her teeth eventually. She cant even catch a break and get two at the same time! I am leaving for a girls trip tomorrow so will be absentee for a few days! :-) I will be missing my little girl but am really looking forward to hanging out and having some adult time. Pray we don't fall in the river! HA! XOXO

Pretty In Pink (and Purple)

Miss Priss in her Sunday best. I just love this dress and her cute little purple shoes! She looked so sweet all dressed up for church. Also, I had to take a pic of the back of her head to commemorate being able to pull ALL of her hair up into a high ponytail. We just keep hitting milestone after milestone. Next, she will be asking for her own cell phone. YIKES!

Yellow Submarine

THIS WAS THE PERFECT END TO THE PERFECT DAY! After Georgia woke up from her nap and had dinner,we headed out for a walk about 6 p.m. However, it was so dang hot we changed our minds after we got Georgia all strapped in her stroller and Zane all leashed up and ready to go...Instead we went and bought a baby pool and let Georgia Grace play in the backyard. She loved it (as if you can't tell from the pictures)!. Also, Jonathon replaced all the doorknobs inside today which almost sent me right over the happy edge! Now, my husband is a lot of wonderful things but a handyman he is not. He did an awesome job. Thanks baby! I am truly truly blessed and am so thankful for my little family. My cup runneth over. Now, if only I could put this day in a bottle somewhere....I really really needed it.

Blah Blah Blah Blog

Blogging has been on the back burner this week bc it has been crazy busy! Now, I am finally catching up! Today has turned out to be a great day. I was skeptical when G decided she wanted to get up at the butt crack of dawn but it all worked out in the end. We took a nice long morning nap and then had US Pizza for lunch with her Daddy when he got off work. And, while she and Jonathon went to Lowes and Wal Mart, I actually squeezed in about an hour and half at the pool. This was followed by playing outside until she tuckered out and is now sleeping peacefully as I type this. I hope tomorrow we can just hit rewind and live this day all over again (minus the butt crack of dawn part).

Lazy Bones

I am so tired and overwhelmed. Before this baby, I don't remember ever being sick, but it seems like since she has been born I am like the sickliest person ever. Am I really getting that old?! The medicine is working somewhat but now I have traded my ulcer issues with other symptoms that do not want to go away. Needless to say, next week the doc will schedule me for a GI consult and workup. I just want to have one day where I feel like a million bucks! I haven't felt like that in well over a month and I am so tired of hearing myself say that I don't feel well. I'm pretty sure everyone around me is sick of putting up with me as well. I hope and pray that whatever it is will heal quickly once they figure out exactly what the heck is going on in there. I have managed to power through it all and work and get all my crap done but man! I am worn out. Poor little Georgey wants her mommy back!

Give A Hoot, Don't Pollute

So...I have been on a blogging hiatus...Here are some pics of miss priss in her new "Give a Hoot" t-shirt. I thought it was so stinkin' cute. I am anxiously awaiting Friday. This has been the longest week EVER!
