15 Month Wellness Check Up

Georgey Poo:
Last week you received your 15 month shots. Yuck. You did so good though, you barely even cried this time. Mommy was so proud of you! You weigh 18 lbs and 6 ounces and you are 28 1/2 inches long. You still fall below the 5th percentile but they say you are still following that little growth curve perfectly. Right now your favorite foods are pancakes, oranges, pears, peaches, chicken nuggets, and crackers. You love any kind of cracker and do not discriminate. Your taste buds aren't quite ready for much else. You are a VERY picky eater and mommy worries sometimes you don't get enough but the doctor says this is normal for this age and one good meal a day is about all we can hope for. You sure do like to snack! You are still taking two naps a day, one in the morning and a longer one in the afternoon. You conk right out after your bath usually at night around 7:00 or 7:30. We pile up on the couch and I usually fall right to sleep with you! You say mama, dada, hello, dog, and ane (short for zane). You like to grunt and point a lot! You also have the signs down for more, thank you, and i love you. Well actually i love you looks more like the sign for loser but I know what you are trying to say! You blow kisses and adamantly wave bye bye and you have developed the meanest look that if looks could kill we might all be dead. You look to give lovin', hugs and kisses and I love to receive them! When I show you how the horse eats corn on your knee, it sends you into fits of laughter that I just absolutely delight in and you have found my belly button, which sends you right over the edge! You know where your nose, ears, mouth, hair and feet are and you try really hard to put your own shoes on. You still love your pink blankey and you still love your pacie. You will go to just about anyone and have no stranger awareness whatsoever. However,I will say that in the last week I have noticed more hesitation in you when around people you are not familiar with so that may be changing...Your hair is sooooo curly we have had to start using curly sexy hair conditioner on it just to keep it in check. This makes mommy laugh! I love you so very much little girl. You are the reason my sun rises and sets and these have been the most wonderful 15 months of mine and daddy's lives. You are inspiration and pure sunshine and I am so very glad God decided to give you to us. He created you just for us to love and oh how much you are loved. You are beautiful inside and out and I can already see what a wonderful giving spirit you have. You are divine in every way. I love you picklepotamus not a hippopotamus!!! XOXO Mommy

These Boots Are Made For Walking....

Georgia finally grew into her hot pink cowboy boot houseshoes! They are so cute and even have the tabs on the side that you pull them on with. On the bottom they say right lead and left lead! She loves them and when I took them off she sat in the floor and tried so hard to put them back on herself. She was very determined but needed a little help from her mama. After much duress she got what she wanted and went and crawled onto her zorse....she is a rodeo queen already :-) Her Papaw Dan would be so proud!

BELLAPALOOZA

We have been getting to see a whole lot of Bella Boo lately. I continue to be thankful that my friends have children with whom Georgey Poo can play. I sent my mom the pic of them driving their cars...she replied back that they were carbon copies of their mothers and that she sincerely hoped that they could dance better than the two of us! Now, this made me laugh out loud bc Amanda Rhea and I used to make up dances and make my poor parents watch the finished product! HA! My cup runneth over.

FLOWER POWER

Jax came over last week for a playdate and the weather was so nice they got to play outside. I love it that the weather is getting warmer and we get out of the house. Being mobile has made life so much fun for her! She thought the flowers were so sweet and wanted her mama to smell them too!

The Horse and The Cow...and The Dog

At Target they have these bins that have every animal imaginable in them. If you have a child, you are nodding your head in unsion bc you know exactly what I am talking about. This is Georgia's favorite aisle in the whole world I am pretty sure. She loves animals and she loves these little toys so much. When we checked out the other day, I thought she was going to implode before the checker could scan her horse. She loves showing them off too. Next on our list is a panda bear!

Sing Us A Song, You're The Piano Man

Georgia has found the piano. We had a budding little Billy Joel on our hands. She goes up to it and just points and screams. This is her subtle way of telling me its piano time. She and Mimi had a big time playing this weekend.

Come Monday

Another weekend come and gone. Oh how I wish I could make them last longer! Georgey had lots of fun with her Mimi in town and slept until 8:30 both Saturday and Sunday! She NEVER sleeps that late! It is spring break out there in the rest of the world but unfortunately, us "grown-ups" don't get a spring break. I think we should! I think everyone should get one week in the spring time to do spring cleaning, spring shopping, to travel, work outside,or even just sit around and do absolutely nothing if you so choose. Wouldn't that be fantastic?

A Tale Of Two Twinkies

In desperation last week I gave Georgia a *gasp* Twinkie! She hadn't been eating anything but fruit and crackers for over a week and I was desperate to get her to eat. I would have settled for anything at this point. She LOVED it at first. She tore into that Twinkie like it was the last supper. About half way through she lost interest and Zane ended up a very happy big brother. Zane gets all her leftovers :-)

All Smiles For The Camera?

We are all feeling much better around here. FINALLY!!! I was starting to get on my own nerves with all the whining about being sick. Mom is in town and we have just been maxing and relaxing since she got here. We drove up to the Daffodil Festival so Heather could take G's pics yesterday but she didnt want to smile for her pics because with the wind whipping around it was sooooo cold outside. I am sure Heather still got some good shots but Georgey was not her typical "hamming it up for the camera" self. However, she was the rest of the day when we got home. :-) I had to post these pics of her "wild hair don't care" in the tub. So Funny! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

The Dark Side

Of this I am fairly certain...We are dangerously close to crossing over to the dark side. Georgia has now had fever for two days and is out of school again. They called yesterday afternoon from her school with the grand news. Jonathon and I have managed to rearrange schedules thus far so neither of us had to miss work but it is getting tiresome and I still feel like crap and am pretty sure he does too. My mom is coming on Thursday and I am so super excited to have some respite. She may not be as excited as me as she is walking into the germ den or something like it. The pictures above pretty much capture in a nutshell what its been like around here for the last week. I AM SO READY FOR THIS TO BE OVER!!! I miss my little happy baby and I miss her smile. She hasn't eaten much in the last week and I can tell she is losing weight. Please pray she starts feeling better soon and pray for her mother's sanity. I don't think I was cut out for this.

Zane, Are You Gonna Eat That Cracker?

Twice last week, I referenced Jonathon and I escaping the bug. I spoke too soon. I spent the entire weekend in bed and am pretty sure I don't remember a time I was ever so sick. Wendy came to the rescue and got G so she could be out of our germ infested house. Jonathon seemed fine until about 11:00 last night, when he came down with IT too. Georgey Poo went to school this morning and I hope she has fun playing with all her little friends. I can only hope we are on the upswing....

The Calm Before The Storm

Well, little miss sunshine was just fooling me. She went back to school Thursday and Thursday evening Alica and Chloe came over for a play date. All evening G kept laying down in the middle of the floor and just laying there every now and then. I chalked it up to her being tired from being sick on Wednesday. She played a little then would crash out. By 6:30 she was out for the count. At midnight she woke up vomiting again. Accompanying it this time was diarrhea. We were up with her until about 3:oo when she finally was able to rest. Bless her little heart, she is just so susceptible to sickness. She catches it from miles away. Thank goodness Chloe didn't get sick too. Betty stayed with her on Friday so she wouldn't have to go to school and I am so thankful! Jonathon and I escaped unscathed for the most part...I didn't fell to hot last night, but I survived. We were supposed to go to Nat's Crawfish Boil tonight, but we are forgoing it in the event G would infect everyone there or get sick again. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I haven't been out of my pajamas all day!

Rain, Rain, Go Away

It is so gross outside here. The high today is 36! I just put all my winter stuff away last weekend. Go figure :-) Well, my little sickling got to stay home from school yesterday. She woke up sick and threw up two times before I knew what I hit me. After the initial vomit fest she never got sick again and was little miss sunshine the rest of the day. She was extra tired so I got lots of cuddle time in but she is back to her old self this morning. I am so glad the illness was short lived and this is the very first time Jonathon and I have escaped the ick. YAY!!! Maybe we are finally becoming immune? Cross your fingers.

Sir Kiss A Lot and Froggy McFroggerson

Let me just start by saying that I can not believe it is only Wednesday. I have been saying that since Tuesday. As always though, Georgey Poo keeps me hopping and keeps me smiling. She is sitting pretty in her chair in the photos with Sir Kiss A Lot and Froggy McFroggerson respectfully. Froggy took a nose dive and G had to go after him. After it was confirmed that he would live to ribbit another day she had to give him some lovin'. She is giving him a big ole hug in the last picture. Don't babies just turn you into a big ball of goo. She makes my heart melt in a million new ways these days. :-)
