There's No Place Like Home

Dorothy definitely said it best... There is NO PLACE LIKE HOME. After six long days and five long nights we were reunited with our sweet girl. I didnt think my mom and chris were going to hand her over! This morning we woke up to her sitting up in the bed! She has been sitting up for a long time now but not putting herself in the sitting position all by herself. I almost fell out of the bed I was so shocked! She also is trying to pull up on everything. It is crazy how much you miss in a short week! We had a great time in Mexico but missing her was excruciating. I am so glad to be back. We are all exhausted so more to come later. For now I am going to spend some precious time with her before its time to head back to work in the a.m. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Letting Go

Tonight my heart is heavy. I just layed her down for the last time for a whole week. I dont want to go! I want to stay home and hole up with her and Jonathon in our own house. I think the hardest thing will be walking away from her at the airport tomorrow. I know this is good for us and we need a vacation and blah blah blah but I am sad! I can't wait to get back and see how much she has grown and what she will be doing in a short weeks time. She is almost up on her knees crawling now and I think by the time we come home she will be. Everyone please say a prayer for me and Jonathon that we have a safe trip and make it home safely to our baby girl. Also please pray that little pickle doesnt miss us to terribly much. If it is this hard to leave her for a few days I can not imagine what letting go over and over again must feel like when you are a parent. Oh, what we have to look forward to.

Peace, Love, and My Monkey

Today is the last day we have at home before our cruise! Jonathon trekked it to Fayetteville for the Alabama game at the last minute so Georgey Poo and I are here getting packed! She is going to stay with mom, Chris, and Elizabeth Taylor for the week. I know she will have so much fun but I am going to miss her so much!! They promised they would post on her blog for me while we are gone so I can log in and see my sweet baby. They better! Hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Tubthumper...The Chumbawumba Kind

We do this little thing at our house every evening post bath and pre night night bottle called dance party. We turn on the tunes and go to town and I would dare say this is her favorite part of the day! Today it was Tubthumper on the radio and she was so pumped. She loved it. I think it might be her new jam. I hate it of course so naturally when it came on she was so excited! Also, last night the little pickle bottom was talking in her sleep. Literally. She gets that from me. Jonathon said "oh no, now there are two of you." To Cute.

Look what I can do!

She steadily creeped her way from the middle to the side of her crib! Little sneaky baby!

Grinning like a Possum

How her smile lights up my life I don't think I could ever put into words. She is so happy and I am so glad! I hope Jonathon and I have a little something to do with that. She has been a delight all weekend and I am so sad it is over.

If its not one thing....its your garbage disposal.

Our garbage disposal broke!!! Now this doesnt sound so catastrophic to most, but here at our house, it is a huge deal. There was standing water in the dishwasher so I couldn't wash Georgias bottles in there and the sink was stopped up so I couldnt wash bottles in the sink either. Dilemma. Ed was gracious enough to come and fix it for us and we are now back in business. Thanks Ed and Betty! Also of note, our lawn mower in broken. Our yard is SOOOOO embarrassing right now. We leave for our cruise in a week so we will have to figure something out before then. The good news is Georgia's little tooth is visible for all to see now. Look closely in the pic of her by herself above and you can see it!

Messy Marvin

Yesterday was a day of discovery for little Georgey Poo. She picked up her juice cup and took a drink all by herself. Now, mind you she can hold her own bottle and she can hold her juice cup as well but this is the first time she has ever just picked it up and went to town! I was so proud! Also, shortly after that incident she pulled herself up on her knees while holding onto the highchair then tried to stand up. Now she never made it off her knees but it was not for lack of trying!!! She is so awesome!!! She is also really digging all these new fruits and dinner dishes she is getting to try. She really liked the chicken and apples and she had banana berry for dessert last night. She LOVED it!!! I still think the guava is her favorite with pineapple pear running a close second. She has turned her nose up at the chicken vegetable and turkey rice. I guess she has decided that those just won't do. I am so glad its Friday and I get two glorious days to spend with her. She isn't going to school today but is staying home to play with her while I hit the road. Hope everyone has a great Friday and an even greater weekend. Sorry to all who are disappointed about the Texas game. :-(

TIMESTAMP

FYI- I don't know what is up with my camera, it is stamping everything May 2007. G wasn't even born yet!!! I think I fixed it.

I do believe in the Tooth Fairy!

My baby finally got a tooth!!! It came through yesterday and it is barely breaking the skin but you can see it and you can definitely feel it. We have waited and waited and now I don't want her to get teeth. I don't want her to grow up! I want her to stay a little pickle bottom forever. I am just now adjusting to the fact that she is army crawling...and now this. She is quite the big girl now with her tooth! I told her if she never got any teeth the tooth fairy wouldn't leave her big wads of cash. I guess it worked. Go figure. :-)

Is that a monkey or are you just happy to see me?

Tara came to visit Georgia last week and brought her a new Monkey! I have never seen anything like the way this baby acted when she saw this thing. She was laughing out loud and flailing those little arms around. I, of course thought at first it was a fluke but the next day she acted the same way. Just looking at her new monkey puts the biggest smile on her face and giggles are sure to follow. She is a week later still completely in love with her new sock monkey. I am so glad! Thanks Aunt Tara!

Little Black Dress

Every girl should have at least one little black dress. This is Georgia's. If you look closely you will see that her onesie even says so! I am trying my very best to teach her what is essential to have in your closet. This item is a must, even for an eight month old.

Counting Your Blessings

It is so easy to forget to count your blessings. I forget on a daily basis how incredibly blessed I am. Not lucky. Blessed. I have a wonderful husband, a beautiful daughter, healthy parents, the best dog in the entire world, and great friends. Work is tough right now and I get so caught up in all the frenzy that I forget that it is just work. It is merely a tiny fraction of the rest of my life. THIS is the good stuff. Jonathon, Zane, and Georgia are the meat and potatoes and I am so thankful for them. Georgia banging away on this piano, Zane knocking me over to get to the door, Jonathon yelling "Hey baby where are you? I missed you." when he walks through it. GOOD STUFF. I am so grateful that God has chosen me to bestow these wonderful blessings upon.

To Nana's House We Go...

Georgia was Nana and Poppy Ed bound this morning. We have a very busy next couple of days. Tonight is Amanda's 30th birthday party 70s style and tomorrow we will head to the game. She is getting some quality time in with them this weekend. Grant has a game tomorrow so I know she will eat that up! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Beautiful Girls

This is the look they will give us when they are 16 and think we are all stupid. They are going to be so much trouble in the not so distant future. I suppose Amanda Rhea and I do have it coming....

Super Georgia

It was back to work today with the rest of the free world. Blah. Hurricane Gustav is rearing its ugly head here in central Arkansas in the form of rain. Going to be a nasty couple of days here. Georgia kept me hopping all day yesterday. She has had a low grade fever for a couple of days and has been really fussy. Her seperation anxiety has really kicked in and she is having a hard time with my leaving the room...EVER. She is improving her army crawl and she loves balancing on her buddah belly. She looks like superman when she does it. Correction. SuperWoman.Super Georgia.
