Georgia's Big Day

Dallas and Eva got to meet Georgia Grace for the first time this weekend!!! They had a big time and all got to hang out and of course give this baby lots of attention and lovin'. Nana and Georgia worked on her bye-bye and Poppy Ed came over later to join the party. He and I both had to work so we missed out on all the big fun. She is so enamored with Grant it is so cute. :-) This baby is so rotten with all these grandparents to spoil her senseless. What a lucky little girl.

Sleeping Beauty

"This child God gave us is so precious to me. She is his creation, fearfully and wonderfully made. He deserves all my praise. I hold her against my tummy and cannot believe she came from me. Although I tried, I could not imagine the magnificient work He was doing helping this lil tiny baby grow in my belly.

Her skin is the softest I have ever touched-her fingers and toes perfection. Her full head of hair swirls in a silly and wayward fashion. It must be pure silk spun by an angel. Her big eyes with great eyelashes, her little bird mouth, her tightly clenched fists-I am intrigued by every part of her. Even the smell of her newness thrills me. I could linger forever at the nape of her neck, praying that I will never forget her fresh fragrance. I am awestruck by His creation. I want to shout from the highest place in the highest voice, "My God is almighty, my God is miraculous." I hold her tightly, and I sing. I sing hymns. I sing lullabies. I just sing. I praise Him for this child who has come and filled a place in my heart-a mommy place that was there all along and waiting on her.
I feel keenly aware that my life will never be the same. Yet I wouldnt go back for all the treasure in the world. How did I ever live without her? Thanks be to God for the magnificent gift of our sweet baby."

A note for Georgia

Beautiful Girl:
Oh how quickly you are growing. Mommy looks at you and can't quite believe it. You are getting to be such a big girl and your personality is developing right before my very eyes. You are becoming such a little ham! We went to the mall this weekend and you had such a good time practicing your "bye bye". You waved at everyone we saw and quickly figured out it got you lots of attention and you ate it up! My life is so much more complete with you in it. Daddy and I just adore you and we can't wait to see what wonderous thing you do next. I hope and pray we are writing the correct things on the tablet of your heart. I hope you are everything you can ever dream or wish. You are more than I could have ever imagined. Sleep tight little burrito baby. I love you big as the sky.
Mommy

It is as grandmothers that our mothers come into the fullness of their grace.

It was a crazy busy weekend and it went by way to fast. Mom was here and as always it is over before it seems to start. I miss her so much and it makes me so sad when she has to leave. We had a really good time hanging out with her on Sunday and Georgia Grace got to spend the whole day with her on Friday while I was working. She is such a good Mimi and it makes me cry when I see them together and see how much it hurts my mom not to be here everyday. :-(
On Saturday we went to Brent's baseball tournament and they won the whole darn thing! Val and Jason spent Saturday night so they got to see G too. I hate it when the weekend is over. It seriously makes me homicidal! THEY need to add one more day to the weekend and take one away from the week, these days are just going by much to quickly.(So whoever THEY are I hope your listening!) As you can see in the picture she is holding her own bottle now. Yes, it is sporadic but she is doing it nonetheless. I just can't get enough of her, I need more hours in my day :-)

Happy Birthday Aunt Natalie!

We went to dinner tonight for Nat's birthday. G got to wear her new fabulous shoes and I do believe she might have a small shoe fetish...Look out Carrie Bradshaw, you might have some competition soon! We had a fun night and she was so pooped she was asleep before we were on the interstate. She got lots of hugs and kisses from Aunts Natalie, Courtney, and Meredith. All the excitement and girl talk must have simply wore her out. I hope she gets lots of sleep bc her Mimi comes tomorrow.
Sleep tight little jitter bug, I love you!!

Bella Boo and Georgey Poo

Georgia wants to eat everyone and everything! She tries to eat her friends! She and Bella will look at each other and just laugh like they are in on some secret joke that the rest of us know nothing about. Amanda Rhea and I have decided that they will both be bossy britches and eventually Bella will cut Georgia's hair off when we're not looking. Jeremy and Jonathon say we can't make them be best friends but I beg to differ :-) I mean look how sweet they are together? Their daddies are going to be in BIG trouble.

How much is that froggy in the window?

I am so tired today but this baby just continues to bring me so much joy. She makes me forget that I am exhausted and have a million and nine things to do. Today she sat up all by herself. She supported herself with her little arms and just looked up at me like she was a big girl and had been doing it all along. What a little stinker.

Take Me Out To The Ballgame

Georgey got to go to her first ballgame this weekend. We went to the Travs game and though we were afraid it was going to be to hot for her it turned out to be a really nice night. Susan, Bud, Gunnar, and Grace were troopers as they all let Georgia drool all over them all evening. She got to wear her new hat and her and her daddy got to sing "take me out to the ballgame". It was a successful game outing, and I am very sure it is the first of many more to come. I wonder if Uncle Mitch is ready for the tri-pod to become a square? Football season is right around the corner.

Father's Day

Well, it was definitely a day. Last night I could tell her tummy was hurting and she woke up today reeling with it. She screamed and screamed and screamed some more. The rice cereal is surely the evil culprit. I should have known with all the tummy issues we had with her in the beginning via the formula that her little digestive system couldn't handle it...but they don't teach you these things in school so we are flying by the seat of our pants here. I tried prune juice (she wouldn't take it, but hey can you blame her?) Jonathon even tried his always successful belly rub. After a few hours I called her Nana and begged her to please come help...I couldn't give my baby a suppository. I just couldn't do it. She came to our rescue and then the little pickle princess finally took a nap, but in true Georgia fashion she slept for a whole 15 minutes. I wanted my daddy to be able to play with her and get happy smiley Georgia. Poor guy. He got here around 8 this morning and it was scream-a-poolaza all day long. We were going to have lunch at 11:00 bc Jonathon had to go to work at 12:00 but we never made it out the door. We improvised and had take-out from Cracker Barell. This afternoon she seemed to be feeling lots better and by the evening she was back to her almost usual self. I got a pic of her and her Papa right after she woke up so she wasn't upset and I snagged a couple of her and Jonathon when he got home from work. No cereal for her today or tomorrow or the next day. We may try oatmeal eventually but we are going to stick to the organic vegetables and fruits for now. We will work it out together, we made it through the first 12 weeks, we can make it through anything. All in all it wasn't the best day but we stayed afloat and I am so blessed I got to spend mine with people I love.

*Jonathon is over my shoulder telling me G is going to be so embarrassed when she is 16 and one of her friends finds this and reads it. So, Georgey if you're reading this I'm sorry and I love you big as the sky. XOXO

Quack Quack

Georgia Grace:
It is such a blessing watching you grow and play. The simplest things like a quacking duck make you so happy and giggly. You are such a little joyful and loving spirit. May all your days be filled with sunshine, laughter and lazy days with little ducks that you can fall asleep with. I love you beautiful girl. XOXO Mommy

Walk This Way....Talk This Way

She is getting stronger and stronger every day that passes. She rarely wants to lay down she wants to sit up or stand up (with help of course). She really doesn't like to be on her belly at all so I wonder if she will ever crawl. It won't be long until she is running around her like a wild banshee. Her little legs get to going and I swear if she could just get them to cooperate she would be outta here. Stay tuned....

Sweet Potato Queen

We had sweet potatoes for the first time today! She loved it! I couldn't get the spoon to her mouth quickly enough. We had so much fun! I am so excited to introduce new things to her and see how she reacts. It is so amazing watching her little eyes light up. She now grunts and reaches for her bottle the second it is in her sight, she will almost jump out of your arms to get it and break her neck to keep her eye on it if you turn the other way. Maybe she thinks Zane will eat it. If you ask me she is already to smart for her own good...after all she is my child ;-) She truly is special...a sweet potato queen indeed.

Ugh

Well all the kiddies at day school have the stomach virus. Ugh! My little pickle is spitting up more than usual but she seems to be feeling ok. We still have a little cough that seems to be sticking around and around and around but no signs of real distress yet. She won't have to be there the remainder of the week so send some prayers our way that she doesn't get sick. Everyone keeps telling me how great it will be when she gets older and goes to school bc she won't get sick like all the other little ones since she has already been exposed...I guess in four or five years I will then be thankful :-)

Hannibal The Cannibal

These two are to much for words! They want to eat each other. As you can see Chloe is intently staring at Georgia's arm like it is a fillet....and Georgia is going after Chloe's arm like it is the last meal she will ever have. :-) Jonathon and I gave her cereal for the first time on Sunday afternoon. We videoed the whole experience but for some reason we didn't take pics...go figure! I'm not sure if she likes it. She eats it but seems really hesitant. Its really messy and gross and it smells bad I can't imagine that it tastes good. I guess I expected her to go after the cereal like she did Chloe's arm. I'll post pics of her cereal face soon! XOXO

Changes Changes

How quickly she learns new things....Her legs are getting so strong and she can stand up for long periods of time now when I hold her. She can sit in her Bumbo for at least three books before she gets tired and she manuevers her Johnny Jumper like she has been doing it all along. I am astounded everyday at something new she does. I would have never imagined a five month old would like cartoons but mine sure does. She can be in the middle of a fit and I can turn on The Backyardigans and she immediatly stops, stares, and laughs. It is a sight to behold. Oh so much to look forward to! XOXO
