One Year Wellness Check Up

Well, yesterday was our one year check up and immunizations. We actually went on December 22nd for our appointment but she was running a fever so we had to postpone until now. It was not fun. She was so sad when they gave her the shots this time. She looked like she was in extreme pain and they even left little marks on her leg where the needles went in. Poor baby! She weighs 16 lbs and 10 ounces, is 27.5 inches long and her head is 17.25 inches in circumference. She had lost a couple of ounces from last time we went to the doc but they said that was completely normal because she is so much more active now. She is in the 3rd percentile but still is following her own little growth curve which is great. Of course the first thing they asked was "Is she walking yet?" Nope. Nada. No dice. She may not be walking but in the last week she has really been enjoying some new foods here at home. She has taken a liking to hot dogs, chicken nuggets, pizza, and mini pancakes. I am so pround she is finally eating real food!!! As of her birthday she is only taking one bottle a day and that is her night night bottle. We have slowly cut back and it has been a pretty easy transition. I just can't take her nighttime one away just yet. She is doing really well and hasnt seemed to miss the ones she used to get throughout the day at all. The last two nights she has acted uninterested in her bottle when I have given it to her and hasn't even finished it. I guess with all of this new food it has somewhat lost its luster.I am not looking forward to the day she has to go without her pacifier. I shudder at the thought. Also, she loves loves whole milk! I think Jonathon is thrilled because big kid that he is, now there is always milk for cereal in the house. It is so weird not making a million bottles a day. WEIRD. It wasnt that long ago it was like eight a day! Whew. She loves to wave bye bye and say dada. She also LOVES LOVES to dance. Give this girl a beat and she goes nuts. She is such a cool kid. She says hello with gusto and loves to bark like a dog. She is in a size three diaper and still in some 3 to 6 months clothes but mostly 6 to 9 months. She is looking especially tall to me lately. I think she has had a growth spurt! We go back at 15 months for another round of immunizations and another check. As of now she is still on Prevacid for her reflux as it is still bothersome to her. We are going to switch to Nexium in February bc our insurance stopped covering the Prevacid. I hope it works as well as the Prevacid did. With insurance her meds are 75 bucks a month so without the insurance it is upwards of 200 a month so a switch to something else is at least worth a shot! She is just cruising right along, nothing slows this sweet precocious girl down. She is getting such a little attitude. Hope everyone had a great day today. We are hunkered down in our house, just ate some Outback, and are going to ring the New Year in with our little family. Zane and Georgia may not make it until midnight....we will just have to wait and see....

Random Moments In Rewind..

Just some random christmas/birthday/holiday moments I wanted to post here for Georgey to remember the craziness by. I love you baby girl. The madness may be gone but we had so much fun, didn't we? I can't wait until next year!

Elton or Georgia? You Decide....

This just makes me laugh out loud. She usually rips anything right off her head if you try to put anything on her. These however, she loved! She started dancing and jumping around the second they were on her face. It was awesome. I hope Chloe, Bella, and Jax liked there cool Elton glasses we gave them too!

JAIL HOUSE ROCK!!!

Ok, I did not put her in here, I promise. She loves going into Elizabeth Taylor's cage. She thinks it is so funny to open and shut the door. I thought it was hilarious. I never could snap the picture fast enough to catch her laughing! Zane doesn't have a cage, wild animal that he is and all, so this is the first one she had ever seen. I wonder if she thinks its like her playpen...only this one she can get in and out of? What I wouldn't give to be able to read her little mind sometimes.

You, My Blue Eyed Girl

My beautiful blue eyed girl. Sometimes she just takes my breath away. I suppose everyone thinks that about their children. But, I had no idea...

Playing Dress Up

Here is Miss Priss in her Christmas dress that she never wore...it was to hot for it and tights! BAH HUMBUG! She sure did look sweet in it though. We just had to play dress up in it. Maybe we will find another way to put it to use.

Marley, Me, and Baby Zane

Georgey Poo went to her Nana's on Christmas night and Jonathon and I went to see Marley and Me. It was such a great movie. I bawled my eyes out and so did Jonathon. (Sorry baby, I am selling you out!) Any movie that makes you cry that hard is a winner, even if you do leave feeling suicidal. My top three cry movies are Hope Floats, The Bridges of Madison of County, and of course Beaches still gets me every time. I am going to have to bump The Bridges of Madison County and move Marley and Me into my number two spot. If you have ever loved a dog..EVER..you have to see this movie. I came home afterwards and just loved up on Zane. He is unequivocally the best dog in the world. I was seriously worried when I was pregnant that I wouldn't love the baby as much as I do Zane. Everyone said, "Oh, you won't pay him as much attention when the baby comes." I just smiled politely thinking, "Yeah, right." Well, you know what they were right. Not that I don't love him as much as I ever did, but he was the center of our family before the baby. Then, he was our only baby. Now he has had to take a back seat to Georgia. Poor guy. All she does is torture his sweet soul. She pulls his ears and grabs his tail, and goes after him every chance she gets. It is so sweet and I know that one day very soon he will be glad to have someone to romp around with. For now though, he just wants to get away from her! I am so glad I have such a wonderful dog. One that is gentle and sweet and caring with my daughter and one even better than I could have ever hoped for. He will be four whole years old in April. He was my "first born" and I will never forget that. I hope if you get a chance to see the movie, you like it as much as I did.

TOYS R US

Georgia hit paydirt again today at Betty's familiy Christmas. I tell you, this baby has more toys than we have places to put them! We could open our very own section in Toys R Us. It was 72 degrees so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Now, that Christmas has passed, I am ready for spring time! I can't wait to take Georgia to the park!

The Reason For The Season

Mom and Chris left this morning and we were sad to see them go. We have enjoyed having them here this week to celebrate with us. When we woke up this morning, Jonathon and I exchanged stockings while the little one slept in the bed. I have been so excited for Marley and Me (my favorite book) to come out at the movies that's all I've talked about for weeks. That being said, guess what was in my stocking?! I had tickets to the movie tonight!! I am so excited!!! We have been blessed this Christmas and I am so sad to see it come and go. Dad came up today to round out a perfect holiday and we grilled steaks and I cooked my "first" Christmas dinner...even if it was out of box. We had mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, corn on the cob, yeast rolls, and who can live without ranch style beans?! Next year I am going to attempt my own dressing. Maybe. Tomorrow we will go to Betty and Ed's for Christmas and finish up our holiday festivities.:-( In all the hub bub of being so busy Georgia never got her very own stocking. GASP. I know, I am a horrible mother. Jonathon and I looked at a million different ones but we could never agree or settle on one that we loved. Dad unbeknowest to him, settled our problem today. Ever since I was old enough to talk I wanted my dad's stocking. It is the same one he has had since he was a baby. It is soooo cool and has Frosty on it. It is literally fifty years old. He gave it to Georgia for Christmas. Now, naturally I was a little jealous since I have been asking for it for 20+ years...but I guess its OK since she doesn't have one. :-) I was so proud and I knew how big of a deal it was to give it to her. Now, the little stinker has a stocking. One her mommy will always covet! On another note, I am so looking forward to having the next week off. I am going to just veg out with the pickle and get some much needed rest and relaxation. :-) I know its easy to forget in all the hustle and bustle the true reason for the season. But I hope each of you take time today to celebrate Jesus and the true meaning of Christmas. Have a wonderful night! I know I will. XOXO
